11 Must-Have Items to Pack for Luxury Family Travel (2025 Packing List)

Traveling as a family is always an adventure — but packing for everyone can get overwhelming fast. After our own luxury getaways — from Portugal to Dubai — I’ve realized that the right travel essentials can make all the difference.
Why Packing Smart Matters for Luxury Family Travel
When you’re traveling with kids, every forgotten item or overpacked bag can snowball into extra stress — or extra costs. And when you’re investing in a luxury trip, the last thing you want is hassles slowing you down.
Packing smart is about more than just saving space. It’s about:
- Making flights and airport connections easier.
- Keeping hotel stays organized and comfortable.
- Avoiding last-minute expenses on overpriced gear.
- Giving yourself peace of mind so you can actually enjoy the trip.
That’s why I put together this wishlist-style list — these are the family travel upgrades that experienced parents recommend again and again. Think of it as a guide to stress-free luxury family travel, one smart investment at a time.
I don’t own all of these items (yet!), but they’re on my wishlist because, as you can see from the roundup, family travelers swear by them. Here’s my 2025 Luxury Family Travel Packing List — 11 must-have items that can make any trip smoother, more stylish, and a lot less stressful.
Luxury Family Travel Packing List
1. Luxury Carry-On Luggage

A sturdy, stylish carry-on is the dream for family travel. Right now, we’re making do with what we have, (infact we borrowed my sisters suitcases for our recent Portugal trip) but when I upgrade, I’ve got my eye on this dark blue Tripp suitcase. Families rave about how it glides through airports and keeps everything perfectly organized — one day, I’ll be rolling one of these through the terminal with my kids in tow.
2. Packing Cubes for Families

Keeping kids’ clothes organized on the road can feel impossible. Packing cubes are at the top of my wishlist — so many families swear by them for assigning a color to each family member. These Bagsmart Packing Cubes are the ones I’d buy first once I reinvest some of my blog income. If you’re already using them, you’re ahead of me! They can be used over and over for all your getaways worldwide. Durable, versatile and they come in different sizes. Still questioning whether you need packing cubes? The answer is yes. Instead of taking out all your clothes and reorganising them into hotel drawers , just take the cubes and put in drawers. Better yet, all you have to do is put them back in your suitcase when its time to go home. Simple!
3. Travel Stroller (Lightweight & Compact)

When my kids were younger, this would’ve been a lifesaver. A compact stroller like the YOYO3 folds to fit in overhead bins and is perfect for resort hopping or long days out. I didn’t splurge on one back then, but if I had to do it again, this Stokke YOYO3 Stroller would most definitely be on my list.
4. Noise-Cancelling Headphones for Kids
Flights are long. Planes are loud. And kids get restless fast. Noise-cancelling headphones are something my children would certainly benefit from. My youngest child is particularly sensitive to noise aswell which is why I recommend these iClever Active Noise Cancelling for protecting little ears and keeping kids happily entertained.
These have great battery life, work great on a plane and are very comfortable so you’ll have no complaints. The volume level is also limited so you can rest assured that your little ones ears are safe.
5. Portable Bluetooth Speak

Our getaways wouldn’t be the same without our Bluetooth Speaker. Music sets the mood wherever you are — whether it’s relaxing by the pool, having a family dance party in your villa, or entertaining the kids with an audiobook, a portable speaker is a must!
Easily connect this speaker to your phone and you have instant entertainment for the whole family. This Bose Soundlink Speaker is lightweight, waterproof, and has amazing battery life. It’s one of those small upgrades that instantly makes your travels feel more fun and connected.
6. Yoto Player (Screen-Free Entertainment)
This one is an investment I would 100% make. My sister had 3 Yoto’s all playing at once on holiday as her kids all wanted different stories on! The Yoto Player lets kids listen to stories and music without screens. It’s on my wishlist for our next big family trip — because sometimes you just need entertainment that isn’t a tablet. You can check out the Yoto Player here
7. Travel-Sized Bottles for Toiletries

These silicon travel-sized bottles are absolutely brilliant! They’re the perfect size for shampoo, conditioner, face wash and shower gel. They come with labels and a clear bag to keep everything together, making packing so much easier. The bag also keeps them neatly contained and prevents any spillages should there be a leak should be contained which is also a bonus!
Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a high-quality, reusable travel set! This is one of those small indulgences that makes packing feel so much easier.
8. Family Travel Organizer (Passports + Documents)
Save the hassle of shuffling through bags looking for your passports and tickets at security like most parents with this leather passport wallet. If it’s always been last minute to find all the passports and decide who would be in charge of them when going on holiday this wonderful passport wallet is amazing. Not only is it elegant and looks beautiful in or outside a handbag but it’s also well made and can hold up to 6 passports. Love it!
9. Collapsible Water Bottles

These are not only practical but eco-friendly aswell. Instead of buying overpriced airport bottles of water, a collapsible water bottle is lightweight, re-usable, and family-friendly. These genius bottles are leakproof and easy to clean too. Take this on holiday with you and top it up with the airport water dispenser then collapse it easily into your luggage.
10. Travel Tech Kit (Chargers + Power Bank)
Family travel = a million devices. If you are fed up of scrambling for cords at the bottom of a bag than this Electronic Organiser bag from Bagsmart is just what you need, pair it with this fast charging power bank which has 5 power outputs to make travelling simple and organised.
11. Luxury Travel Blanket & Neck Pillow Set

This travellow memory foam travel pillow blanket set has it all! I love how comfortable and chic it is. It includes a soft, fluffy blanket that is long enough for full coverage, a memory foam pillow, eyemask and earplugs. Great not only for on the plane but also for the kids whilst on road trips. I need to get one for all the family! Its also great for throwing on the ground for evening campfires under the stars.
Flights can be cold and sometimes uncomfortable, this travel blanket + pillow set is one of those upgrades that makes the whole journey feel calmer, cozier, and a little more “first class.
